Collection inventory: Recording information and checking items against a master sheet.
Condition checking: Noting any issues which may need addressed.
Photographing collection items: Making a visual record of the archive’s physical items.
Product level cataloguing: Entering information on physical items and supporting paperwork.
Digitisation preparation and support: Supporting the audio preservation engineer in the preparation and preservation of open reels, cassettes and minidisc recordings.
Content research: Transcribing audio files and noting pertinent information in the catalogue.
Training received:
Curation: I attended a curation training day which focused on ways to engage the general public with the contents of an archive. I was then given the opportunity to curate my own project, which focused on the use of home remedies in Scotland and the British Isles.
